Summer Outreach Training Course

For Whom?

  • Young people who want to serve the Lord among children.
  • Those interested in reaching boys and girls in 5-Day Clubs®.
  • Teachers in Sunday Schools, Clubs and summer camps.
  • Anyone interested in teaching God's Word to children.

Conditions of Acceptance

  • Be born-again and seeking to live a consecrated Christian Life.
  • Be in agreement with the CEF Statement of faith.
  • Be at least 16 years old.
  • As the number of places is limited, you are advised to book well in advance.

Priority is given to those who can spend time doing open-air evangelism following the course.

The Training
Subjects studied include:

  • Biblical Basics for Evangelising Children
  • Preparing and presenting a Bible Lesson
  • What is the Gospel?
  • Counselling children
  • Quiz and memory work
  • Conducting an open-air meeting for children.

There are also practical sessions which include demonstrating Bible Lessons, Memory Verses and open-air 5-Day Clubs.

Every assistance will be given to help equip you for the great task of evangelising today's child.

Dates and Cost
The Summer Outreach Training Course in Northern Ireland is planned for 29 June - 7 July 2006. The cost will be £64. The course is free for those who serve a minimum of three weeks during the summer in designated areas with CEF of Ireland.

The Summer Outreach Training Course in the Republic of Ireland is planned for 24-30 June 2006. The cost will be €65.

What comes next?
Following the training course, and according to your availability, you will be given the opportunity to work in a team taking the Gospel to the children of your area.

Training together provides fellowship, the prospect of meeting new friends, times of corporate prayer, praise times and opportunities for relaxation.

Junior Summer Outreach Training Course

There is a completely separate course for fourteen and fifteen year olds called the "Junior Summer Outreach Training Course".  This lasts for three full days and runs concurrently with the main Training Course on the same premises.

Subjects covered include: What is a 5-Day Club? Can a memory verse be exiting? and Witnessing with the Wordless Book.

This is an ideal course for mid-teens seeking an introduction to serving the Lord Jesus among children.

Dates and Cost
The Junior Summer Outreach Training Course in Northern Ireland is planned for 30 June - 4 July 2006. The cost will be £35. A sponsorship of £10 will be available for those who serve for two weeks in 5-Day Clubs in designated areas with CEF of Ireland.

The Junior Summer Outreach Training Course in the Republic of Ireland is planned for 24-27 June 2006. The cost will be €50.

What comes next?
Following the training course, and according to your availability, you will be given the opportunity to work in a team taking the Gospel to the children of your area.
